The Dennis Family
We are Dan and Esther Dennis, natives of South Carolina. Dan is the owner of Dennis Corporation, an engineering, surveying and construction management firm with offices throughout the state. Esther is a former English teacher with a passion for theatre. She has acted and directed at various theatres in Columbia. We are both active members of our community and church, and are proud parents of our wonderful son Jace Dennis, born in 2014, and our beautiful daughter Amelia “Millie” Rose Dennis, born in 2005. Millie was born with Mosaic Down Syndrome; because of this, we are also very active in the special needs community and busy participants for fundraisers and awareness. We love to vacation and we love our vacation homes. We hope you do too!

With clear waters surrounding the island, St. Thomas is the ideal place to go snorkeling and observe marine life. There are a variety of great options for snorkeling around the island, but one that we find especially accommodating is St. Thomas Scuba and Snorkel Adventures. There are a few packages offered at this company that make it stand out. On the Atlantic side, you'll explore a reef, while on the Caribbean, you'll snorkel around their "secret turtle spot." In addition to exploring while you snorkel,

The Low Country of South Carolina offers a lot of fun family activities, and, luckily, the Blue Crab Retreat is in a location central to many must-see areas. The charming town of Beaufort, just 40 minutes from our home, is a great place to have some fun and enjoy South Carolina's coast. One of the best ways to get started exploring Beaufort is by hopping on Captain Dick's River Tours. These river tours depart from the marina in downtown Beaufort and offer guests a chance to learn about Beaufort's wildlife and history, all while relaxing and breathing in the ocean air. Daytime tours, which last about an hour and 15 minutes, are offered each day, while "sunset cruises" run April-October

The Purple Martin Hideaway on Lake Murray offers many fun things to do and places to explore. One nearby town that's worth seeing is South Carolina's own state capital, Columbia. Of course, you should see the South Carolina State House or the University of South Carolina's campus while you're there, but there are a few places in Columbia only locals know to stop by that will make your trip all the more memorable. Columbia is surrounded by three rivers - the Saluda, the Broad, and the Congaree. As a result, there are many hidden river-walks in the area waiting for you to explore! One of the best is the Columbia Canal and Riverfront Park, located at 312 Laurel St, Columbia, SC 29201.
